Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Below are some frequently asked questions, this section has been added to the website as numerous calls were being received on a daily basis asking these questions. Please note this website is updated regularly.Q: How many chapters does TSLA require in the first instance and should I include a synopsis and covering letter?A: Please send the first three chapters of your work and a synopsis - an A4 side should suffice. A covering letter is a nice way of introducing yourself to the agency. Q: Should my work be typed in double line spacing?A: Yes please! If your work is not typed in double line spacing then it takes longer to read....the synopsis should also be typed in double line spacing. Q: Should my submission be sent in a folder or by recorded post?A: Agents and publishers prefer to read manuscripts without folders / staples - loose sheets are the best way to send your submission. Recorded post is not a necessity, dozens of manuscripts arrive everyday without being sent recorded. Q: How long will it take for TSLA to read my work?A: Current reading times are between 3 to 4 months, this is due to the volume of manuscripts received. Since all work received is read, it does take time to reply - please bear with us. Q: Does TSLA accept submissions by email?A: Not at present - we only accept printed copies. Q: Will TSLA return my manuscript?A: Yes - as long as an addressed envelope with appropriate postage is included with your submission. We are happy to reply to your submission by email, this saves you return postage.
